Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Pulmonary rehab enhances the quality of life for patients with chronic breathing conditions by helping increase lung capacity. Program goals include decreasing respiratory symptoms and complications; improving physical conditioning and exercise tolerance; and teaching controlled breathing and energy conservation techniques. Potential benefits include symptom relief, added independence and reduced hospitalization.
Pulmonary rehab is designed for patients who have experienced or are at risk for:
- Asthma
- Bronchiectasis
- Chronic bronchitis
- COPD (including alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency)
- COVID-19
- Cystic fibrosis
- Emphysema
- Interstitial lung disease
- Lung cancer
- Lung volume reduction surgery
- Pre/post lung transplant
- Pulmonary fibrosis
